Today was home improvement day. Marvin scared the pants off me the other day - I came home from work the other morning to find him sitting on the front porch, waiting for me. And Frank was on the back patio! One of them knocked a screen out of its frame, and thank god they were safe and all accounted for. So I picked up some white duct tape and secured the screens to their frames, hopefully making it a bit harder for them to knock out. I love having the windows open and the breeze coming in, but I love having my cats alive even more.

Also picked up new toilet seats, the cleaner I use (Clorox, go figure) was wearing the paint off the old seats when I wiped them down. So voila, new seats installed easy peasy.

I wound up getting canceled for the overtime shift on Fri, fingers crossed that they still need me for this Thursday.

Three weeks til vacation! With this cooler weather here (yay), I'm feeling a little homesick for trees and grass and rattling windows and lakes... I'm hoping that the weather in PA/NY will be miserable and cold and possibly snowy, so I can get over that feeling tout suite.

Oh and I finally got some dark blue streaks in my hair! A coworker (who has pink in hers) recommended the salon that she goes go over in Goodyear, and I went. Love 'em! If I put my hair up in a bun, you can't see them at all, but if I wear it down, bam - streaks!

They survived in fine form, and have the cutest tiny e-collars on. I have them in the guest room to try and limit their running around. We'll see how well that works.

I did manage to pick up an extra shift tomorrow night, and I signed up for next Thurs overnight as well. That'll pay the vet bill (and after next Thurs, which will be seven nights in a row, I'll be ready to collapse). Good thing I love my job and the folks I work with.

Dropped Cricket and Mr. Adams off to get speutered, they said they would be ready to pick up after lunch, but since I have to work tonight, the vet is going to keep them overnight.

Kitties are good. I'm good - just tired!

Eve and I started walking in the mornings, to try and get in shape. Slowly but surely, we will.

It's mid-October, and it's still 90 degrees out. I had the AC off and the windows open for maybe two days, and then summer came roaring back. They're saying that we only have two more days of "summer," and then things will cool down. I'm kind of looking forward to it.

Playing the Hamilton cast recording non-stop. I'm so excited to see it when I go back east next month. I have tix to see it twice, once with Mom and once with Tesse. So so so psyched.

The black fluffball answers to "Mr. Adams." I'm hoping my coworker Kim, who wants kitties, will adopt him and Cricket. By Wednesday, they'll both be done with their vaccines and I can get them speutered - definitely want to do that before I go home, and before either of them go into heat. Hopefully I can get them both taken care of next week. Gotta see if I can pick up any overtime shifts to pay the vet bill!

Tesse and I had a terrific time in LA, pretending to be rich and famous. Explored a lot of Beverly Hills, ate some truly fantastic food at Wolfgang Puck's CUT, and truly enjoyed our trip. Now we return to our regularly scheduled life.

Kitties are good. Work is good.

And thanks to the dumbass new Wild Card playoff structure, the Yankees found a new way to be eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
