11/26/13
Switched my flight to the red-eye tonight to avoid the impending storm that's headed to NJ (watch, I'll be flying through turbulence all night IN the storm). I guess I'd better pack!

11/25/13
It sounds so weird to say it, but I am done with work until December 7th. I'm getting ready to head east to the cold and the turkey and the apple pie. My catsitter is coming by tomorrow so I can show her where everything is, and I put up some early holiday decorations. The tree will have to wait til I get back, because otherwise Marvin the holy terror will decimate it. But the kitty-sized stockings are up and the red-and-green table runner is up and the menorah is on the counter.

I'm not excited about the cold, but I am looking forward to seeing everyone. And Mom and I will be roadtripping to Boston for two nights - and seeing A Christmas Story: the Musical while we're there, and also going down to see some of the Newport "cottages" decorated for the holidays.

Oh and it rained here for two days straight - a late thunderstorm. I closed all the windows, the temperature dropped to like 70. I'm a little scared of the cold in NJ!

11/17/13
The holiday gifts are wrapped. Next up: writing out my cards, going to NJ for turkey, hanging the little kitty stockings by the fireplace (I have a fireplace!) and hoping I don't get canceled from work any more.

Of course, if anyone has a spare $164K and wants to pay off my mortgage for Hanukah, I'd love you forever.

11/14/13
Day off! I spent part of it sleeping, then went to see my Botox nurse to make the frownies go away before the holidays. How better to smile through the holidays than by freezing your forehead in place? Popped into the art museum for a bit after that to wander around the air conditioning.

And then I took myself out for dinner at Macayo's, and did some holiday shopping (for me and for others) on the way home. This weekend, when I'm off, I need to sort through gifts and start wrapping and think about writing out my holiday cards. I always buy too many cards because there are just so many adorable ones.

11/12/13
Sketched out the schedule for my trip east. Two weeks from tomorrow! It looks like I'll get to see everyone, which will be awesome. It's hard to see all my friends when I only get home once or twice a year, so it'll be super if it all pans out.

Still congested and woozy, but a big improvement over Sunday. I had to leave the house for groceries and faux-Sudafed (the only thing that really clears my sinuses out), but otherwise I've been curled up with the kitties.

11/11/13
LA was a nice trip, except for the traffic. I did some shopping in Santa Monica, which is always nice, and looked at the ocean (as close as I need to get to it). I think I picked up a bug tho, since I'm congested and achy and sore throat-y and fever-y. I worked Sat night, but called out last night because of the above. Today is a little better, I'm mainlining NyQuil and faux-Sudafed and chicken noodle soup.

11/6/13
Ack, flying home in three weeks! Gotta get my holiday shopping done!

But not today - today I am going to bed (soon) and then driving to LA for two days.

It's been chilly enough here in the mornings that I've had to turn the heat on in the car. Chilly like under 60. Brr.
