Opening Night! (for baseball)

Even tho the DBacks lost, I had a great time at the game tonight. I had dinner at the Arizona Baseball Club restaurant in right field. They do a "Chef's Table" buffet style dinner, and tonight they had prime rib, chicken, many salads and sides, three different sliders (beef, turkey and meatloaf). Plus a dessert table to die for. Mmm. And I'd splurged on a great field-level seat, behind the first base dugout. Awesome time.

I miss having Eve here already. My next trick is to help her move out here for good.

Went to see my new PCP today (I'm insured!) - he's from NY, too, altho a Mets fan. But the initial visit went well, reviewed my medical history, scheduled a bunch of labs etc for next week, and then a follow appointment in two weeks.

And since it's getting towards "turn the AC on and leave it on" time, I called the AC guys to come out and inspect the system. I have no desire to find out what happens when your AC fails in August. They'll be out next week, too.

I love having Eve out here! The sun makes her joints feel better, and better joints mean better mobility and less pain and better moods. So of course, we're touring model homes and dreaming that she and Mark could make moving here a reality. We're splitting our time between doing domestic things (cooking, making sugar body scrubs, fixing things around the house) and seeing the sights (Sedona, art museum, Scottsdale). So nice to have my faux-sister here!!

It's nice to be insured again. I made appointments to see all of my docs - including a new PCP and dentist that're in Verrado. Yay for no commuting.

I had a burst of energy today and went rollerblading. I was doing great until the sidewalk jumped up and hit me in the knee. Luckily, hey, I'm a nurse. It didn't bleed that much, but it sure stung when I washed out the scrape with peroxide. It wasn't bad enough to need to take advantage of being insured. But between the sun and the scrape, I'm worn out now! Time to nap on the patio.

Eve comes out tomorrow! Can't wait! We have a tentative list of things to do while she's here. So excited to have her come to see my desert oasis.

I have been incredibly remiss in updating this site! Partly because I was in NJ/NYC for the past week and didn't bring my laptop with me.

Most of the snow had (thank goodness!) melted by the time I got there, and while it was cold, it wasn't windy, so it wasn't TOO bad.

The point of going was to see Bryn Terfel and Emma Thompson in Sweeney Todd with the NY Philharmonic (don't be all jealous, they taped it for PBS). But apart from that, I got a lot done! Mom and I went down to the SPCA (you know, just to look at the kitties), and came home with a friend for Savanah! His name is Roger and he's a big fluffball of love. And once he got over the stress of a new home, he proved to be a purr-y lapcat. Waiting to hear how Savanah adjusts to another cat, when I left she was giving him the stinkeye.

Sweeney was - as expected - fantastic. Say no more. After Carousel, it's my favorite score, and it was pretty awesome to be able to see both shows done with a full orchestra and great singers.

And I got to hang out and watch baseball with Dad. He's putting his apartment on the market, in preparation for retirement, so there was an open house yesterday. So on Saturday we tidied up a bit (yes, I dusted, don't let it get around) and vegged out with the Yankees on TV. I think that's a good way to spend a Saturday. And I went out for dinner with Tesse and our friends David and David, excellent Italian near Lincoln Center.

Flew back last night (thanks to my friend Peter, who gifted me the miles to fly first class, it was perhaps the best domestic flight ever). We landed early, but I made up for it by taking the shuttle bus that went all the way around the airport before getting to the parking lot.

Today is errands day. Fun.
