The gym, I went. I am achy but happy. Need to do this regularly.

3/28/13
A day of nothingness that's keeping us busy! Irene came over to show me some workout things I can do at home (the gym was closed for AC-tuning today). We did lunch via Groupon downtown in Verrado, and then hit the pool. And now we're heading downtown (Phoenix) to hit happy hour. The changes of clothes on this day alone are staggering, considering that I am usually in jammies all day on my day off.

3/27/13
It's 75 and sunny. Perfect day to buy taller trellises for my climbing rose vines (I have rose vines!). Whoever said gardening is relaxing is nuts.

My Yankees guy offered a deal on a pair of padded Stadium seats (and a signed Posada ball) for $500. I am trying to figure out where I'd put them. Possibly outside.

3/25/13
Jeez, three different Targets and no butter crunch cashews. It's a sign.

3/21/13
Exited that Dad and Ann are coming out at the end of May, and Mom is coming out at the end of June. And excited to see Michelle and Sean and baby Julien for dinner tonight!

3/20/13
What a long day! It started before work - I got up "early" and went to meet my friend Colette for dinner downtown, she's in from LA. Irene and her friend Amber, and Colette's friend Ryan also came. The only downside was that I couldn't have a beer because I had to go to work. And then after work, I went grocery shopping, and then to the eye doctor (I am growing blinder and blinder the older I get), and then to the vet so Mimi could donate some urine and Pippin could get a crew cut for the summer.

3/15/13
Another beautiful day in the Valley of the Sun! There's an arts festival in Scottsdale (we discovered this last night), so Irene and I went back today to walk around and browse. I bought a fantastically beautiful tote bag with lots of pockets (and a pretty bow) and she bought shoes. Stopped in to look at the beautiful paintings again. I think they've adopted me; they offered me a discount (but I still can't afford anything in the shop) and a layaway plan.

Hit the LUSH store, too, for bath goodies and a face masque.

Next week, I get to make another payment on my vet's summer home. Taking Mimi on Monday for her labwork (I don't think the thyroid med is working), and taking Pippin on Wednesday to meet the groomer, and see how sedated she'll have to be (Pippin, not the groomer) to get a summer crewcut. She can't reach all of the little matted areas on her back, and she won't sit still long enough for me to brush them out.

3/14/13
It was 90 today. I slept, did my taxes, lounged poolside, and met Irene for the ArtWalk in Scottsdale. We, of course, cannot afford a thing in any of the galleries, but it was fun to browse.

I fell in love with the floral paintings at Gallery Andrea, but again, no dinero, no art.

3/13/13
I hate being sick. I do, however, love whining about it. Midway through my shift on Saturday, I got all lightheaded and felt like I was going to throw up. Checked my sugar, wasn't that. Checked my BP, fine. I laid down for an hour and still didn't feel any better, so I handed off the keys to the other RN (thank goodness there WAS another RN on) and went home. I've never left a shift early. Anyway, I set the alarm clock for Tuesday and woke up feeling much better. I picked up a shift tonight to make up for calling off.

Gonna be 90 today. Woo hoo.

3/8/13
We were going to leave today's game in the 6th inning, but as soon as we opened the doors from the concourse at Chase Field and saw the pounding rain and felt the crazy wind, we decided to stay another inning or so. Italy ended up beating Canada 14-4 in eight innings, the mercy rule being invoked. Awesome. And Irene and I met Luis Gonzalez in the concourse and took photos. I made sure it was OK to take a "Yankee fan picture" before posing with my middle finger extended. He was in good spirits about it.

3/7/13
Perfect beautiful day for baseball. Irene and I trekked over to Scottsdale to watch Team Italy (sans Cervelli) beat Team Mexico, and had a blast. Since it's supposed to rain tomorrow (of course it is), the game has been moved downtown to Chase Field in the afternoon (Italy vs. Canada). We have tickets for that one, and if I'm feeling motivated, I may go back downtown for the night game to see Team USA. Will have to see how tired I am!

3/6/13
Happy birthday, Francisco Cervelli.

Yes, I am feeling lazy this week. The trip east was fun - it rained, it was chilly and windy, and I had a good time seeing friends and family. And of course, Nathan Gunn in the Carousel concert. Dad and Ann and I had dinner at the Popover Cafe, which was nice and cozy on a rainy night. Wednesday, Mom and I enjoyed a nice rainy drive up to Westchester (right past the nice rainy Stadium) to see the gravesites of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig (the last time I went up, I didn't know that Lou was also buried up there - shame on me) and then went over to see Missy and baby Nicholas. And as if our day wasn't long enough, then we drove out to PA to scope out Mom's future retirement place and have dinner with Aunt Linda and Uncle Peter. Thursday, we went up to Plainfield to see Eve (and her adorable fuzzy bunnies), and then stopped in to see Uncle Charlie and Aunt Joan before heading to the city to see Carousel. Dinner with Tesse, concert with a myriad of folks I knew, and then I went back to Dad's to sleep. Friday, lunch with my friend David at Luke's Lobster, and then some shopping in Chinatown. And then I vegged out at Dad's and packed and went back to the airport and flew back to Arizona. Very busy trip, and next time, I'll take more than four days!

And now I am back in the Valley of the Sun, where it is 80 and sunny today. I spent today at the Indians/Dodgers game, and then lounged poolside for the first time this season. And altho my future husband Francisco Cervelli has dropped out of the WBC (perhaps in a bid to become the Yankees starting catcher?), Irene and I will still be at two World Baseball Classic games tomorrow and Friday. Friday - of course - it's supposed to cool off and rain. Of course.
