4/4/97
So, no more AP. Now i'm working uptown at Arcus Incorporated being a geek. It's great.

I'm working at the Park Theatre in scenic Union City this spring on the Passion Play. That should be fun, this is the 4th year in a row that I've worked on it. (Yes, the same PP that was just on the news because of a death threat.) How exciting.

So, check it out. My friend Bill from Dartmouth and I went to see La boheme at NYCO and then Rent (comparison study, yeah), and we took this utterly geeky, angst-filled quick-cam shot. Check it out. We snarl, we pout, we glare at the camera. It was better than Cats.

Other than that, there isn't anything really new going on. I realized that I can afford a vacation, and I've been having delusional ideas that I'd like to sit on a beach for a few days and do nothing. Sip cocktails at a wetbar. Wear a bathing suit when everyone I know is freezing in NYC. Now all I need is someone to go with - I don't think the cats would like all that sand. Tho they could view it as the world's largest litterbox.

My background is in theatre production and design, and computers are just something I grew up with. I read a lot, always have. I wrote a play in 1991 that won the NJ Young Playwrights Award. I work nights and I sleep all day - maybe too much. I do freelance web work in my spare time. Whee.

I like dirt and power tools and climbing trees and driving fast and jeans and hanging out in bars with my friends. I have never been called 'dainty' or 'feminine.' I'm sassy. Quite. I live in a small studio apartment surrounded by lots of books, the kitties, and my mac. PC's suck. VAX's suck more.

I have a list of biographical stuff over here, and I have pages and pages of pictures too. I've been compared to Dorothy Parker all my life (is it the biting wit? the sassy sarcasm?), and I maintain the Dorothy Parker Poetry Archive online. It's all of her poetry. It kicks ass.

I have tattoos. I used to drive a 1972 Dodge Dart, affectionately known as the Tank. It died after I sold it, and I miss it dearly. I live on the Manhattan Transit System now. I miss roadtrips. I miss driving. I miss nature. I miss places that you have to drive to. I want to go cross-country by train. I want to go to Europe for more than 2 weeks. I want to drive to California and not come back.

Right now, I just want to catch up on my sleep.

Addendum: There used to be a lot more to this website. I didn't archive any of the files until after the year 2000. The files here from pre-2000 were culled from online archives like wayback.org. Prior to 2000, I just deleted my current data and wrote new stuff. I took the site down for about six months, and put it back online in the format you see now. Pre-archival info? I grew up in NJ, graduated high school, went to Montclair State for a year to study theatre design (electrics), left after a year, moved to the city, worked in theatre but made no money, started working at the AP, taught myself web design and programming when the Internet was just branching out to the general public, and I think you can follow along from there. Enjoy.
